1.    Arts & Culture  

Cranleigh Arts Centre is situated in the heart of the village and offers the best in live music, theatre, comedy, film and cinema. While the Arts Centre is currently closed due to lockdown, we’re confident that anyone moving to the area will love its vibrant programme of events. 

2.     Education

Cranleigh is home to a number of excellent schools, such as Cranleigh Church of England Primary School, Park Mead Primary School and Glebelands School. For older students, the University of Surrey, located in Guilford, is just 30 minutes away by bus or a 15-minute drive, and offers an array of further education courses to choose from.  

3.     Scenery 

Cranleigh is perfectly located in the heart of the beautiful Surrey countryside, close to picturesque farms and woodland walks. The village itself is within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and moments away from Surrey Hills and South Downs; two parks with plenty to offer, including nature walks, vineyards and horse-riding.

While Cranleigh doesn’t have a railway station, it is conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Guildford. From there, trains to London Waterloo take approximately 35 minutes, making it ideal for London commuters who want to escape the city and its suburbs. Cranleigh has an abundance of history. From St Nicholas’ church, built in 1770, to the nearby Guildford Castle and Museum showcasing Saxon, Medieval, Tudor, Georgian and Victorian heritage – there’s much to explore. 

8.    Picturesque

Cranleigh is full of quaint cottages, historic houses, stunning greens and cosy tearooms, which make it a beautiful village to live in. The surrounding area of Surrey is equally as picturesque.

For cyclists, Cranleigh has a number of different routes into neighbouring villages and the Surrey Hills. Cranleigh Cycling Club is also well known in the village, and welcomes new members who wish to explore the best routes in and around the area.
