Beach East

 

Beach East at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is an ideal family-friend spot to perfect your sandcastle skills. The theme this Summer is ‘Rio’, and big screens will be erected to watch the Olympics from 6th to 21st August. There is also a funfair and an enormous paddling pool to help you cool off.

The slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit

 

This Summer why not ride the world’s longest and tallest slide? Designed by Belgian artist Carsten Höller, The Slide is an exhilarating new addition to the ArcelorMittal Orbit in The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. To ride The Slide your child must be at least eight years old and over 1.3 metres tall.

Hackney City Farm

 

Get stuck into some immersive farm life this summer. The best bit? You don’t even need to leave the big smoke. The Hackney City Farm is bursting with farmyard animals for children to get acquainted with. Keep an eye out for the twice-weekly pottery classes and vegetable box schemes.

Cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark 

 

Ride on down to the Lee Valley VeloPark this Summer to tackle mountain bike trails, road circuits and BMX jumps. There are also bike skill sessions supervised by expert coaches. You can even ride the Olympic velodrome track. A must for any bike-mad child.

Discover children’s stories

 

The Discover Children’s Story Centre is a hands-on creative literary centre for children, dedicated to lighting your little one’s imagination and building their curiosity.  This Summer, the Discovery Story Centre will be putting on an exhibition inspired by the illustrations from American writer and illustrator, Dr Seuss, who is most famous for The Cat in the Hat children’s book.
