Government to Invest £600 million in New Homes

The Government recently announced that it is to invest over £600 million to support the construction of 50,000 new homes in England.

Chancellor Sajid Javid believes the fund will ensure the necessary infrastructure is in place to unlock housing in high demand areas.

“I want to see more homes built in the places people want to live, so more people realise the dream of home ownership. But we need the roads, rail links, and schools to support the families living in those homes, which is why I set up a fund to put in place the infrastructure to unlock new homes in these areas”, said Javid.

While the announcement doesn’t solve the ongoing problem of a lack of homes, it’s fantastic to see the provision of funds for the building of new properties in England.
