Shared Ownership Week 2019
Shared Ownership enables buyers to purchase a “share” of a home, typically from 25% to 35%, the new homeowner then pays a subsidised rent to the housing provider on the remaining share.
There are many advantages of Shared Ownership. For example, a deposit and mortgage is only required for the share owned by the buyer, and not the total purchase value – perfect for those with limited savings or no access to the bank of mum and dad.
Between 19th and 25th September 2019 we’ll be celebrating “Shared Ownership Week” with a series of events and initiatives to highlight how the scheme makes the dream of owning a home a reality for thousands of first time buyers.
Throughout the week, we will be hosting an exciting competition on our Instagram profile, showcasing the benefits of “Joint Ownership” – the potential to purchase a Shared Ownership home with a partner, friend, sibling, colleague or anyone else deemed to be of housemate material. We’ll also be posting a series of facts and figures about Shared Ownership across our Facebook and Twitter channels throughout the six days.
On Saturday 21st September 2019, from 11am – 5pm, we’ll be attending the Capital’s largest event for first time buyers, The London Home Show. Taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, our team will be on hand to answer all Shared Ownership questions and introduce buyers to our properties across London and the South East. Tickets to the event are free, but need to be reserved in advance via Eventbrite.
Finally, on Monday 23rd September, from 1-2pm, we will be hosting a live Twitter Q&A session with Tariq Qureshi, our experienced Sales & Marketing Director. Whether it’s a question about how Shared Ownership works or finding out more about individual developments, Tariq will be on hand to answer all questions.
