Whether you’re on the hunt for a Bloody Mary, a stack of pancakes or a breakfast burrito, South London has loads of great brunch options. Check out our favourite spots south of the river. 

 

Coal Rooms 

The menu at Coal Rooms speaks for itself. Choose from; corn tacos filled with pumpkin mole, chimichurri and London Fettle, the much-loved cured bacon sandwich, or a full English for two, comprised of smoked jerk goat sausage, smoked pig’s head black pudding, fried duck eggs and bone marrow butter mushrooms. Delicious.

Antipodea 

Antipodea has brought the best of the Melbourne café culture to London. Expect to find Insta-ready flat whites, perfectly executed eggs and sweetcorn fritters. There are also restaurants in Kew and Richmond, but Putney remains our favourite.

Duck Egg Café 

If you’re looking for a high-quality, wholesome, English breakfast, then the Duck Egg Café is the spot for you. The main restaurant is located in Dulwich, however Brixton locals can breathe a sigh of relief as they also have a residency every morning at The Prince of Wales on Brixton Road.

Ben’s Canteen 

This chilled-out Battersea favourite excels at brunch. Choices include buttermilk pancakes, breakfast burrito and sweetcorn and courgette fritters to name but a few. There’s also an Earlsfield branch for SW18 locals.

Foxlow 

With a South London outpost in Balham, Hawksmoor’s younger sister executes a memorable brunch with options including ham hock hash browns, fried chicken, egg and croissant waffles and the notorious Foxlow breakfast.

The Great Exhibition 

Each item chosen from The Great Exhibition’s brunch menu is accompanied by limitless Bloody Marys, Mimosas, tea, coffee and toast. All of this for just £25 per head.

Babette 

Sat in the heart of Nunhead, Babette offers up a wholesome range of homemade creations. Don’t miss their sharing boards and French fries with herby salt. Seriously moreish.

Brickwood 

From the Brickwood burrito to the grilled sourdough toasties, everything on the Brickwood menu is delicious. Check them out in Clapham, Balham, Streatham and Tooting. Comfort food at its best.
