Summer Activities in Brighton

Summer is officially here, and as we head out into an (almost) unsocially distanced world again, we have put together the top events that are a must for your Brighton bucket list.

1.     Rock 'n' Roll with Me - David Bowie Exhibition

An exhibition of unique photographs, taken between 1973 and 1976 by David Bowie’s close friend and travelling companion, Geoff MacCormack, is now on display at the Brighton Museum. The exhibition includes recently rediscovered and never previously seen images of Bowie, alongside rarely seen film footage. A must-see for any Ziggy Stardust fans.

2.     Foodies Festival

Foodies Festival is the UK's largest celebration of food & drink, and is hosted in Brighton’s Preston Park. Visitors can feast on a vast array of culinary activities, inclusing a Chef’s Theatre, Drink’s Theatre and a BBQ Arena, alongside headline music from Scouting For Girls. It is the perfect family day out for self-proclaimed foodies.

 3.     Pride at The Ironworks

Pride at the Ironworks’ is a season of cabaret, comedy and live music celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and diversity at Ironworks Studios in Brighton. From a musical bingo game to performances from singer/songwriters, there is a range of different shows to attend. As Brighton Pride 2021 has unfortunately been postponed, these shows are the perfect alternative to show support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

 4.     The Luna Beach Cinema

The Luna Beach Cinema, named ‘The UK’s most exciting open-air cinema experience’, will be returning to Brighton Beach for a month-long residency. Featuring the highest definition outdoor LED screen and showing all of this year’s biggest hitters and new releases, there will be screenings suited to every taste. There will also be delicious hot food and a bar on site. Film lovers also have the option to hire premium deck chairs and VIP beach huts. It’s the perfect destination for all the family to enjoy a film on the big screen.

 5.     Brighton Fringe Festival

Brighton’s Fringe Festival is an open-access arts festival held annually in Brighton. The festival boasts the title of the largest annual arts festival in England, and is a haven for lovers of all things creative. There are many events to attend this year, including award winning shows, tours, comedy, theatre and children's shows.
