Summer Activities in London

Summer Activities in London

Summer is officially here. As we head out into an (almost) unsocially distanced world once again, we have put together the top activities that are a must for your bucket list in the Capital in July, August and September.

1.     London Wonderground

London Wonderground is a summer playground with adventure for the whole family. From a city beach to vintage rides, live music and outdoor bars to streetfood, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained. There’s even live shows such as ‘A Matinee At The Musicals’ and ‘London Comedy Allstars’. London Wonderground is free to enter and runs from 15th July to 26th September.

Location: Empress Place, SW6 1TT

2.     London Transport Museum After Dark

The Transport Museum’s ‘After Dark’ sessions feature activities such as interactive poetry sessions, quizzes and panel talks, with drinks and refreshments available for all. Each session is themed around topics such as London’s lost rivers and the history of the Thames Tunnel, making it perfect for those who want to know more about the Capital’s historic transport network.

Location: London Transport Museum, Covent Garden Piazza, WC2E 7BB

3.     Between The Bridges

Set over 4,000 square feet, Between the Bridges on the Southbank, boasts the title of London’s biggest beer garden. Alongside masses of space for alfresco boozing, you can also find street food-faves including vegan wizards Club Mexicana and patties from Burger and Beyond. The space will also be hosting a great line-up of DJs and music, weekly themed markets and even mini-golf and drag brunches. What more could you ask for?

Location: Queen's Walk, South Bank, SE1

4.     Immersive Vincent Van Gogh Experience

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, is a 360º digital art exhibition which allows you to step into the universe of the Dutch artist, Vincent van Gogh. Featuring a 20,000 square foot light and sound spectacular, the exhibition contains a two-story projection of the artist’s most compelling works.

Location: 106 Commercial Street, London. E1 6LZ

5.     Tate Modern

One of London’s most iconic art galleries, the Tate Modern has a fantastic selection of exhibits on offer over the summer, including a solo exhibition of the works of Sophie Taeuber-Arp, one of the key abstract artists and designers of the 1920s and 30s, as well as clay sculptures from Auguste Rodin. You can book your tickets online, and some of the exhibitions are even free to visit.

Location: Bankside, London SE1 9TG

6.     All Points East Festival

All Points East is a festival in London’s iconic Victoria Park. The three day event runs over the August Bank Holiday weekend with music from Jamie XX, London Grammar, Jorja Smith, Foals and more exciting acts.
