But just how quickly can you get from The Sands to London? And how long will it take for you to board that train, plane or ferry for your summer holiday?

Train

The Sands is situated on the fast speed line direct to London. You can be waking up to the sea air in the morning and find yourself in the capital within the hour.

Folkestone station connects to three London terminals: Straford can be reached in 47 minutes, London St Pancras International in 54 minutes, while Charing Cross takes one hour and 42 minutes.

Air

Getting to Heathrow or Gatwick is fairly straightforward from Folkestone. Gatwick is the nearer of the two and you can reach the airport via car in just over one hour.

For Heathrow, you have the option to drive or go by train, both of which take just under two hours. If you opt to drive, the M20 and M25 will lead you to Heathrow in just under two hours, without traffic. If you wish to travel by public transport, jump on the train to St Pancras International, change for the Circle Line to Paddington and then take the Heathrow Express. Using the train and underground, Heathrow can be reached in one hour and 42 minutes.

Car

The Sands is a great location for exploring the South East and you can reach London, Canterbury, Dartford and Dover with ease. Perfect for those weekend trips away.

Dover and Canterbury are a 20 and 40 minute drive away, respectively. Reaching London via the M20 takes approximately two hours, and you can get to Dartford in around one hour.

Eurotunnel

We’ll save the best for last, as this really is the most impressive travel link. It will take you just 10 minutes to reach the Eurotunnel meaning that you can be on the Continent in less than two hours. Mon Dieu.
