What are the top 5 restaurants in Horsham?

This week Customer Service Advisor, and Horsham resident, Chantee Rensburg gives her top five recommendations for eating out in Horsham.

5: Smith and Western
The people of Horsham are advocates for this Southern chain; every local has at least one birthday here, with a glittery cowboy hat and a song from all the staff. It’s most people’s idea of hell but with their unjustifiably large signature dish, the Belly Buster, in front of you it will become your heaven. Order the Nachos to share, Southern Comfort glazed ribs, and if you make it to dessert, the belly buster.

4: Côtes Brasserie
If you’re bored of your cheese and ham sandwich and after a fanciful lunch then head here for a reasonably priced two or three course lunch menu. If you’re feeling like “a la carte” is more your thing, the seafood linguini won’t disappoint.

3: The Black Jug pub
Another deeply loved local favourite. You’ll feel like you’re at a friend’s house but with a conservatory opening up to a vine filled pub garden. Their menu changes daily so that it’s kept as seasonal as possible. You’ll struggle to make up your mind, but if you stick to pub classics you can’t go wrong.

2: Giggling Squid
You might think you’ve had a good Green Thai Curry before, but once you visit the Giggling Squid you’ll realise that whatever you ate was sacrilege in comparison. If you fancy being adventurous, try their black sesame ice-cream made with local Sussex milk. The first bite has you curious for more and after the second, you’ll be converted.

1: Beunos Aires
I visited Beunos Aires not long ago and although I have only visited once, it was enough to put it in the top spot. The staff had the perfect balance of attentive and un-intrusive; the atmosphere on par to your best friend’s wedding; complimentary bread with herbed oil; and the wine in beautiful harmony with the superlative rump steak.
