Local Area

Folkestone is situated on the South coast between the historic towns of Dover and Rye. It offers residents fantastic opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors with many stunning walks, parks and coastal paths nearby. These include the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lower Leas Coastal Pak and the Dungeness National Nature Reserve.

There is an array of amenities close by, including shops (both boutiques and high street stores), supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, and the beach is only a short walk away from the town centre.

Folkestone Central station is around one mile away, which has direct services to London St Pancras International, London Charing Cross, Stratford International and Dover.

Folkestone is located nearby the M20 which provides fast access to Ashford, Maidstone, London and the M25. The Eurotunnel is also only two miles away, providing close access to Europe.

To be eligible for these properties you must:

  • Earn a household income of under £80,000 a year.
  • Be unable to purchase a suitable home to meet your housing needs on the open market.
  • Not already own a home or have sold your current home before you purchase or rent.
  • Priority will be given to those currently living in the district of Shepway, but non Shepway residents are invited to apply
