Find out about the travel links to and from this commuter haven
Sitting on the banks of the River Thames, the historical town of Chertsey is a popular choice for those that want a slice of country and city life. But just how long does it take to travel into London and beyond?
For commuters, Chertsey is a practical choice. It’s conveniently located on the London Waterloo to Reading line, making it a well-located option. The capital is accessible in just 50 minutes, while Reading and nearby Weybridge is a 58 and 11 minutes train journey, respectively.
Chertsey is close to J11 of the M25, which allows for quick access to the motorway and beyond. Plus, many local towns can be reached via car in no time at all, including Staines-upon-Thames (9 minutes), Guildford (30 minutes), Windsor (31 minutes), Epsom (34 minutes) and Kingston-upon-Thames (35 minutes).
Chertsey is the perfect location if you’re one for jetting off for work or for a long weekend on the continent. You can reach Heathrow in 23 minutes via the M25, while Gatwick is a 45 minutes drive away.
If you’re a keen cyclist, then Chertsey’s prime location plays into your favour. You can cycle to many of the surrounding towns in less than an hour. Hop on your bike and ride to the likes of Shepperton (16 minutes), Egham (23 minutes), Virginia Water (25 minutes) and Woking (35 minutes).
