The capital is jam-packed with great theatre spaces outside of the usual West End hotspots. From charming theatre pubs to exciting fringe venues, we’ve compiled a list of our favourites.

Sat on a quaint side street off Upper Street, this intimate space is renowned for showing consistently high-quality productions. Not only does the Almeida guarantee a thought-provoking show, its atmospheric neighbourhood bar is also worth a visit.

Dalston is home to the highly-regarded Arcola Theatre. This theatre space is well-known as a springboard for cutting edge new talent. It also aims to become the world’s first carbon-neutral theatre and is committed to affordable pricing. No ticket is over £22.

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre
Regent’s Park is home to one of London’s few open-air theatres. This stunning amphitheatre comes to life in summer where classic productions are shown. Performances start in June, and in 2018 you can look forward to
Peter Pan, The Taming of the Shrew and Little Shop of Horrors, amongst others.

Sadler’s Wells Theatre

King’s Head Theatre Pub

Sat on the banks of the River Thames, Shakespeare’s Globe in one of the most iconic structures in the capital. Originally destroyed by a fire in 1613, the theatre was rebuilt on the same spot in 1997. With standing tickets available for £5, entrance is affordable.
