The Spring Bank Holiday weekend is almost upon us. To make sure that you make the most of this highly-anticipated weekend, we’ve pulled together a guide to the best events in London.

 

Feria de Londres 

Inspired by southern Spain’s annual spring fairs, the Feria de Londres brings its Andalusian charm to the Bernie Spain Gardens on the South Bank. Expect to see a vibrant array of flamenco dancing, traditional Spanish music and family-friendly workshops. The day wouldn’t be complete without some delicious Spanish tapas washed down with a local wine or fino.

All Points Equal 

Sat against the backdrop of East London’s Victoria Park, All Points Equal celebrates 100 years since (some) women got the vote and 90 years of equal voting rights. There’s an extensive list of family-friendly activities, including film screenings, banner-making workshops, live music, aerial circus performance and children’s theatre.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 

Kickstarting the summer season, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an unmissable event for gardening aficionados. The event plays host to the finest nurseries, growers and florists from across the globe. Don’t miss the Chelsea Late Event on Friday night, which provides visitors with the chance to enjoy the show with live bands and artisanal food.

The London Cheese Project 

Calling all cheese lovers. The London Cheese Project returns to Hoxton for its gastronomic celebrations. 30 British cheesemakers will be gracing you with their presence, along with many more artisan producers and street food traders. Talks, demos and not-to-be-missed tastings will also be taking place in the Geffrye Museum gardens.

Jam on the Rye 

Bank Holiday Monday sees the one-day celebration of sound system culture and the most highly-revered street food in the capital. Presented by KERB, Jam on the Rye will take place on Peckham Rye, which plays hosts to three stages showcasing the best in reggae, afrobeat and new wave jazz, as well as panel discussions on London’s sound system scene.

The Great British Seaside at the National Maritime Museum
