It is has been suggested that back in the 13th century, Hackney Wick received its name from the outlying dairy farm once situated there (known as a 'Wyk').
Nowadays, this cultural melting pot is home to artists studios, quirky coffee shops and cafes, craft breweries, post offices and local shops, the Here East business park, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The River Lee canal also offers plenty of vibrant bars and eateries serving up international fare.
West Ham United's London Stadium and Lee Valley Velopark are also close by – and all at the fingertips of Dace Road residents.
Situated between Hackney and Stratford, the development is conveniently placed for fast and easy access into Central London via Bow Road and Stratford stations, making it an ideal location for commuters and those who want quick and simple access to London's vibrant nightlife and culture.
Hackney Wick overground station is just an 11 minute walk away, while Stratford International station is 19 minutes away.
Bow Road underground station is just over a mile away and a 22 minute walk, while a 25 minute stroll will take you to Stratford station (NE).
The development is also within easy access of bus route 236, which stops at 40 places and ends at Finsbury Park Interchange.
A great location for families with children and young people of all ages, Dace Road is within the catchment area of several 'outstanding' Ofsted-rated educational facilities, including Mossbourne Riverside Academy, the London Academy of Excellence Sixth Form, Children's House Nursery School and St Agnes RC Primary. Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy Secondary School is also rated 'good' by Ofsted.
Several sites in Hackney Wick have undergone transformation in recent years due to the proximity of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, making it a sought-after area for house hunters.
Local artists have set up their studios in and around the disused industrial premises, while the White Building, a canal-side institute for technology, art and sustainability, has been open since 2012 and frequently shows exhibitions and local events.
